Joe Danelo kicks a game winning 35-yard field goal in overtime against the division-leading Cowboys in the last game of the season to help the Giants get into the playoffs for the first time in 18 years.


The Giants retire Lawrence Taylors #56 against the Vikings. He retired as the Giants and NFLs all-time leading sack leader with 132.5. Taylor was the dominant force on both Super Bowl defenses in 1986 and 1990.


The Giants retire Phil Simms #11 at halftime of their home opener against the Cowboys. Simms sits atop the Giants all-time leaderboard in both passing yards and passing touchdowns, and won the MVP award of Super Bowl 21.


The Giants demolish the Joe Montana, Jerry Rice and the high powered 49ers 49-3 in the divisional round of the playoffs, on their way to Super Bowl. The win improves the Giants home record to 9-0, with Phil Simms throwing for four touchdowns and Joe Morris running for two more.
