Giants Celebrate Play Football Month
Be Part of the Football Family

As the end of summer draws near millions of young players, coaches, and their families around the country are gearing up for the start of football season. To celebrate the 2005 season and salute the participants of youth football, the Giants, the NFL and USA Football have teamed up to create the second annual Play Football Month.

The goal of Play Football Month is to encourage and support the sport of football as well as the intrinsic values gained from participation in youth football at the grassroots level. This month is designed to encourage football fans and players of all ages to “Be a Part of the Football Family”. Young players, coaches and families will receive the chance to participate in special football events nationwide throughout the month, including clinics, skills competitions and scrimmages.

The Giants are kicking off this platform with a special celebration on August 20th as they welcome the Carolina Panthers for their first 2005 preseason home game. As a part of the national celebration, the Giants have donated over 1,350 tickets to the game to youth football players, coaches, administrators and their families from across the tri-state area. In addition, the Giants have invited youth football players of all ages to be included in the game festivities. Young players have been invited to be on the field with the Giants players and coaches during the national anthem, and a special young athlete will help out with the coin toss. At halftime, NFL Flag Football teams from Wayne, NJ will compete on the stadium field.

The commemoration of Play Football Month will continue with unique events and activities nationwide through September 30, 2005. If you would like information on how to promote Play Football Month in your community, please log on to www.USAFootball.com.

Quote of the Week
"They were both very productive guys that both played at a high level of football so that right there we think means a lot. Just in the few days we have had a chance to work with them they are pretty much every bit what we thought they were. We will keep working them and hopefully get two good players out of them." - DC Steve Spagnuolo S Kenny Phillips and CB Terrell Thomas
