On Sunday, the Giants lost their third consecutive home game and feel to 3-4 in Giants Stadium with a 36-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The defeat dropped the Giants to 7-7 and tied with the Atlanta Falcons for the NFC's sixth and final playoff berth. The Giants have defeated the Falcons, but have difficult games remaining at home against New Orleans and at Washington. Philadelphia improved to 8-6 and currently owns the conference's top Wild Card spot. The Eagles are one game behind Dallas in the NFC East race at play the Cowboys on Christmas night. The Eagles scored two touchdowns in 13 seconds late in the fourth quarter to clinch the victory. After the Giants took a 22-21 lead, Jeff Garcia threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Reggie Brown. A two-point conversion pass to L.J. Smith made the score 29-22. On the Giants' first offensive play, Eli Manning's tried to throw a pass to Tiki Barber in the face of a heavy rush by blitzing cornerback Sheldon Brown. The ball flew up in the air. Barber failed to bat it down and it was intercepted by defensive end Trent Cole, who returned it 19 yards for the touchdown. Tiki Barber and Brandon Jacobs scored touchdowns and Jay Feely kicked three field goals for the Giants. Philadelphia rushed for three touchdowns, two by Brian Westbrook and the other by Correll Buckhalter and Jeff Garcia threw a scoring pass to Reggie Brown.
