Updated September 18, 2006 "I always think about everybody here in New York or wherever watching the game and how they're probably saying, 'The Giants (stink),'" Strahan said today. "I'm always thinking about that - in every bar in New York City they're probably throwing glasses and stuff. I'm very sure that changed a lot later in the game when we came back." Is there any doubt? The Giants staged a comeback for the ages, overcoming a 24-7 fourth-quarter deficit to defeat the Eagles in Lincoln Financial Field, 30-24. The Giants won the game on Eli Manning's 31-yard touchdown pass to Plaxico Burress with 3:11 remaining in overtime after Jay Feely had tied the score with a 35-yard field goal just seven seconds before the end of regulation time. For the first time in 36 years the Giants had won a game in which they were behind by at least 17 points in the final period. On Nov. 15, 1970, the Giants trailed the Washington Redskins, 33-14, entering the final period in Yankee Stadium. They won the game, 35-33, as Ron Johnson ran for two touchdowns (including the game-winning nine-yarder with a minute left) and Fran Tarkenton threw a 57-yard scoring pass to Tucker Frederickson. On Sunday the current Giants duplicated the feat. Instead of looking up out of an 0-2 hole, the Giants head to Seattle and a date with the defending NFC champion Seahawks with a 1-1 record, a share of the NFC East and the confidence that stems from a big come-from-behind victory in a hostile environment. The Giants believe this is the kind of victory that can catalyze them to a memorable and successful season.
