The victory was the fourth in a row for the 5-2 Giants, matching their longest winning streak under Tom Coughlin. They won four games in a row early in the 2004 season. Tampa Bay fell to 2-5. Both offense struggled to function on the chilly, windy day. Gusts as high as 40 miles-per-hour carried several passes far from their intended targets. When the quarterbacks did find their receivers, they frequently dropped the ball. After the Giants scored two first-half touchdowns, the defense kept Tampa Bay from threatening the rest of the game. Plaxico Burress (seven-yard reception) and Brandon Jacobs (one-yard run) scored touchdowns for the Giants. Jay Feely kicked a late 31-yard field goal. Matt Bryant kicked a 43-yard field goal for the Buccaneers' only points.
