Junior Giants Celebrate Spring!
May 2, 2007
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - On Saturday, March 24th, Giants players Rich Seubert
, Chase Blackburn
, Michael Jennings (clad with his signature gold teeth), and former Giant Charles Way joined 250 members of the Junior Giants Fan Club at Giants Stadium for an afternoon of football and fun! The event had everything young fans could want - agility drills taught by Giants players, field tours, face painting and raffles. In addition, all the kids received player autographs. This afternoon of fun took place in the Giants practice bubble, where the players practice during the regular season.

Linebacker Blackburn knew right away what the best part of the day was for him. "The best part of the day? Watching the kids win the competitions. Whether it was the agility drills or the obstacle challenge, it's just great to see them having fun. I wish I had something like this when I was growing up. There weren't any sports teams in my area so I didn't get the chance to experience this." The Junior Giants also had the opportunity to win raffle prizes and enjoy an all access tour onto the game field. Watching the kids throw the football around and run a timed 40-yard dash on the very field where there was quite a sight for the parents as well!
"I really, truly like to see people having fun," Jennings said, "growing up I was a football fan and I know how I would have felt to meet an NFL player. I still can't believe I'm one myself! So it's a great opportunity for me and a chance to give back to this wonderful Giants community." Jennings worked the football toss challenge, and had his favorite part of the day as well. "The touchdown dances were my favorite!" he promptly replied. "After the kids threw the ball in the hole, I had them do their favorite touchdown dance." The winner: Brandon Jacobs' dance when he stuck the football under his jersey to represent his expecting wife. "That one must have been done one hundred times!" Jennings laughed.
The day wrapped up with an autograph session where the four players signed a complimentary item. The event was certainly a fun filled day for the Junior Giants as well as the Giants players - and parents, of course!
Junior Giants events such as these occur several times a year and are for Junior Giants Fan Club members only. As a part of the membership, all kids receive one invitation per year of membership.
