Three touchdowns raise $750.00 for the New Jersey YMCA State Alliance
The New York Giants capitalized on four Dallas turnovers and spoiled the Cowboys first-ever regular season game at the new Cowboys Stadium 33-31. With the lead changing hands several times throughout the game, the Giants' ability to take advantage of the Cowboys' errors ultimately led Big Blue to victory in the Lone Star State.
Giants corner back Bruce Johnson scored on a 34-yard interception return off Dallas quarterback Tony Romo. And Giants quarterback Eli Manning threw two touchdown strikes, a 22-yard touchdown pass to Giants wide receiver Mario Manningham and another 22-yard touchdown pass to receiver Steve Smith.
The game was undecided right down to the last play of regulation when Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes nailed a 37-yard field goal as time expired. The dramatic come-from- behind victory gave the Giants their second consecutive win over division opponents and moved their record to 2-0 for the season.
The Giants are now 10th in the league in scoring averaging 23 points per game and are sixth in the league in total offense.
Through two weeks of the NFL season, the Touchdowns for Families program has raised $1,250.00 for the New Jersey YMCA State Alliance and its Healthy U program.
