That means backups will see a significant amount of time in their final audition before clubs must finalize their 53-man rosters this Saturday. With rookie Ryan Nassib expected to be the second quarterback in behind Eli Manning, there are plenty of names trying to leave a good impression before the regular season kicks off in 10 days.
“‘Satisfied’ is not a good word for me,” Coughlin said earlier this week. “It doesn’t work and it never has. I see things that I like and I see things that I don’t like and I see things that have to happen and have to move along and get us to the point where we think where our production is and so it’s a work in progress. There’s no question about it. It will be a work in progress when we get ready to play the first game. It’s just been one of those falls.
