Here are five things you need to know about the Giants' new guard, Patrick Omameh:

1. Undrafted out of Michigan in 2013, Omameh (pronounced O-MAH-may) joins his fifth NFL team after having played for the 49ers (2013), Buccaneers (2014), Bears (2015) and Jaguars (2016-17). He has played in 53 regular-season games with 45 starts – 24 at right guard, 20 at left guard, and one as an extra offensive lineman.

2. Last year, the 6-foot-4, 327-pound Omameh started 13 games – his most since starting all 16 in 2014 with Tampa Bay – at left guard for the AFC South champion Jaguars. He also started three postseason games in Jacksonville’s run to the AFC Championship Game.

3. With Omameh, the Jaguars led the NFL in rushing last season, averaging 141.4 yards per game. They also had the most rushing attempts (527) in the league while rookie Leonard Fournette, the fourth pick in last year’s draft, rushed for over 1,000 yards.

4. His first NFL action came in 2014 when he started 16 games at right guard for the Buccaneers. In 2015, he appeared in 14 games with nine starts, also at right guard. When he arrived in Jacksonville, he switched to the left guard position.

5. At the University of Michigan, Omameh was a four-year varsity letterman and two-time Academic All-Big Ten. He was also named to the All-Big Ten First Team by the coaches in his final season.
