Setting off the first of five lead changes in the second half, fullback Henry Hynoski caught a three-year touchdown pass from Ryan Nassib early in the third quarter in the Giants’ 35-24 preseason victory over the New York Jets on Friday night. And was there to capture it frame-by-frame.

While you check that out, Hynoski, who spent most of last season on the injured reserve list, broke down his first score since the 2012 season finale at home against the Philadelphia Eagles.

“I was able to leak out after [the defender] hit me,” said Hynoski, who added that he was the first read on the play. “Ryan rolled out, kind of stayed with me, kept his eyes on me, and then hit me. And there was no way I was being denied that close. So it felt good because after the year I had last year and everything, it kind of came full circle to the year before, how I closed out my last healthy season. So it felt good to get that under my belt.”

Unfortunately, because Hynoski knew he would have to wait for confirmation from the referees on the close play, we didn’t see the patented “Hynoceros” touchdown celebration.

Maybe next time.
