Cooper Taylor Blog: Staying focused

Posted Nov 27, 2013

Safety Cooper Taylor was drafted by the New York Giants in the fifth round this past April. Throughout the year, the University of Richmond product and Georgia native will provide an inside look at his journey of making it in the NFL. This week’s post includes Cooper talking about the Giants’ tough loss to Dallas, their preparation for Washington, and his Thanksgiving plans with the team.

It was definitely a tough loss last week. We fell behind, battled back, and we just couldn’t pull it off in the end. It was a week we prepared real hard for, but we didn’t come out with the result we wanted.

Know Your Opponent: Redskins Roster

We got back in here on Monday and watched the film. Our goal is the same objective that it has been all year, and that’s to improve on where we made mistakes. Hopefully we’ll get another division win this week when we travel to Washington.

The Redskins have just a very dynamic offense with a bunch of great athletes. It’s another battle. It’s an NFC East clash. It’s another great offense. It’s a little bit different than what Dallas does, but it’s another team that puts up a lot of points and yards. So hopefully we’ll be able to figure it out.

In between, the football season takes up most of your life, but we do have some time for Thanksgiving. I have some friends up here, and we’re going over to their house to eat. Then we’re going to head over to Mark Herzlich’s house for a little dessert and hang out with the guys on the team. It should be a nice Thanksgiving. It’s a good time to think about what you’re thankful for, like family, friends, and just being blessed that I’m able to do what I do.
