Daily Blitz - July 19: Snee ready for 2012

Posted Jul 19, 2012

Today in the Blitz, veteran guard Chris Snee talks about the challenges of repeating as Super Bowl champs!

Win a ring, get a parade.

Win two rings, and you get a day in your honor.

That was the case for guard Chris Snee as thousands of fans flocked to the Double A baseball game in Binghamton to meet the two-time Super Bowl champion. After one last chance to bask in last year’s accomplishments, it’s on to the next one when he and his teammates report to training camp in a week.

And the three-time Pro Bowler sees the challenge in repeating.

"No, it's only harder," Snee said, according to The Daily Review. "You look at the history and the odds of winning back-to-back are against us. But, the goal is to win back-to-back. It might be a lofty goal, but that is what we expect. I have eight more fingers left on my hands for rings."

Entering his ninth season in the NFL, Snee now finds himself as one of the most tenured players in the locker room.

I look around and I'm the old guy," Snee said. "I was telling my wife that last week. It's definitely a little different for me. I was the young guy, coming in as a second-round pick. Now, I'm the grumpy old veteran sitting at my locker, waiting for a rookie to torment."
