"Keep in mind folks, the Giants were the most aggressive I've seen them in free agency. They added tackle Charles Brown, guard John Jerry and guard Geoff Schwartz as free agents. They come back in the second round and add Richburg. The Giants are infusing more athleticism and youth on the offensive line. Last year they added Justin Pugh in the first round. They are getting more athletic on the line."

Chris Burke, SI.com

“The Giants signed J.D. Walton to a two-year deal earlier this offseason, but Walton has not played since 2012. In other words, the Giants had to add a center to compete for the gig at some point. Richburg fits the bill and then some. He can play in the middle or kick out to guard and hold his own there, so the Giants should be able to get him on the field early.”

Dan Graziano, ESPN.com

“It's good that they took an offensive lineman. It would have been irresponsible and negligent for them not to do so. They should have taken one in the first round and chose not to, and with Richburg they get a center with whom they spent a great deal of time prior to the draft and whom they likely think can start for them early in his career, possibly right away.”

Maggie Hendricks, Brent Sobleski and Steven Ruiz, USA TODAY Sports

“The Giants signed J.D. Walton as a free agent to replace David Baas at center. But Walton missed all of last season with an injury. Richburg is prepared to step in immediately start. With the acquisitions of John Jerry and Geoff Schwartz, the Giants’ offensive line now appears set.”

Pete Prisco, CBSSports.com

“Why didn't they take a defensive player? Richburg is a good player, but I think they needed defensive help.”

Read rapid reactions on the Giants’ third-round selection of defensive tackle Jay Bromley out of Syracuse. Let us know your grade of the draft so far in the comments section below.

Pete Prisco, CBSSports.com

“The Giants love Syracuse players and this fills a need. Bromley is an athletic inside player who could help with push inside.”

Doug Farrar, SI.com

“Bromley is a penetrating defensive tackle who should thrive in the Giants' rotation. He led the Orangemen with 10 sacks and 14.5 tackles for loss in 2013. He needs to get stronger (especially against double teams), but there's a lot of potential there.”

Mike Mayock, NFL Network

"He's a big two-down run stuffer."

Dan Graziano, ESPN.com

“Bromley is a pure run-stopper and a huge defensive tackle in the mold the Giants like at defensive tackle, whereas Nix is more of a traditional nose tackle. And Bromley did go to Syracuse, which as everyone will point out is Tom Coughlin's alma mater. Feels like a reach to me, but obviously there's something about him the Giants saw and liked. We'll go talk to them and find out what it was. This is the third player the Giants took in the first three rounds who seemed as though he could have been taken later.”

Nolan Nawrocki, NFL.com

“Good combination of size and movement skills. Flashes quick get-off and the ability to hold his ground against the run. Can work half a man, get skinny enough to penetrate the gap and closes with some steam when he has a direct bead on the QB. Is active and gives effort in pursuit. Strong tackler when he's able to wrap up ball carriers. Coachable, hardworking.”
