“Well, at least they made this one competitive. The New York Giants, who hadn’t lost by less than a touchdown since their season opener against the Dallas Cowboys, fell to 0-6 on the 2013 season with a 27-21 Thursday night loss to the Chicago Bears. The Giants managed to hold a team to under 30 points for the first time this season and got their first 100-yard rusher of the season in the rejuvenated Brandon Jacobs, but Eli Manning threw three more interceptions to up his league-leading total to 15.”
Bill Pennington | The New York Times
“And Manning, usually so unruffled under pressure, continues to falter in the game’s biggest moments. For the first time, Manning, a 10-year veteran and two-time Super Bowl champion, is also showing the emotional effects of the losses.”
Mike Foss | USA TODAY
“We’re all sick of it”
“I feel bad for my teammates.”
“We’ve just got to keep playing”
It’s not like the Giants don’t want to win. But it is becoming clear that the Giants can’t win. So where does that leave New York? It doesn’t seem like a group that is giving up but rather a group utterly befuddled and searching for answers.”
Dan Graziano | ESPN.com
“The Giants are 0-6 for the first time since 1976, when they started 0-9. They did, however, do a bunch of things in this game they hadn't yet done in this lost season. They ran the ball well, racking up 123 yards on 26 carries. They converted 7 of 11 third downs, after converting only 16 of 61 in their first five games. They got defensive stops when they needed them. They kept penalties to a minimum. They avoided becoming the first team in league history to allow 30 or more points in their first six games. It was the best the Giants have looked this season by far, and they still couldn't come up with their first win.”
