The Giants continued to shuffle defensive tackles this afternoon, signing veteran Marcus Thomas and waiving Bobby Skinner – who was in camp for only one practice.

Thomas, 6-3 and 307 pounds, played his first five NFL seasons with the Denver Broncos. He played in 76 games with 34 starts and had 180 tackles (119 solo), one sack, two interceptions, four passes defensed, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

Thomas played in all 64 regular season games in his first four years, joining Rubin Carter (1975-78) as the only interior defensive lineman in Broncos history to accomplish that feat.

In 2011, Thomas missed the first four games of the season with shoulder and groin injuries. He returned to action in a reserve role vs. San Diego on Oct. 9 before starting the season’s final 11 games. Thomas finished the season with 43 tackles (29 solo).

Thomas joined the Broncos in 2007 as a fourth-round draft choice from Florida, the 121^st overall selection. As a rookie he started five games and had 30 tackles (17 solo) and an interception. The following year, Thomas started all 16 games for the only time and had career-high totals of 57 tackles (35 solo). He also intercepted his second pass.

Thomas started no games in 2009 and two in 2010.

At Florida, Thomas played in 41 games with 30 starts and had 157 tackles (93 solo), 14 sacks, two pass breakups and two forced fumbles. He had at least four sacks in each of his final three seasons at Florida.

Thomas was a standout player at Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Fla, where he registered 30 sacks as a senior, two shy of the single-season state record.

He was born on Sept. 23, 1985 in Yokosuka, Japan.

Thomas is the fourth defensive tackle signed by the Giants in two days – three remain on the roster. On Wednesday, they added Carlton Powell and Oren Wilson. Thursday, Skinner was added in the morning, but was waived in the evening to make room for Thomas.
