Make The Case: TE Ebron vs. OT Martin

Media experts give their take on who the Giants should draft with the 12th pick

“We have to draft this player because he can do A,B, C.” “No, we should select that player because he can do X, Y, Z.”

These are the debates that will be waged in front offices across the NFL in the coming days and weeks, up until commissioner Roger Goodell steps in front of the podium at Radio City Music Hall.

In our “Make the Case” web series, we look at the selections provided by two NFL draft experts and their reasons why. Then we ask you, the fans, to weigh in on which player you would like the Giants to select if available at No. 12.

This debate is on the offense but at different positions. In recent mock drafts, ESPN’s Mel Kiper projects North Carolina tight end Eric Ebron to go to the Giants at No. 12, while’s Charles Davis has offensive tackle Zack Martin out of Notre Dame.

Ebron is a potential difference-maker for the next stage of Eli Manning's career, a big target in the passing game who can create constant matchup problems with his size and quickness underneath, and down the field with his speed and catch radius (again, size). The Giants have had four different tight ends catch the most passes at that position over the past four years. They could use a really good one.

By Charles Davis,

Giants continue to retool offense, and need to keep Eli Manning protected. Martin can play LT or OG.
So, Giants fans, if both players are available, who would you want the Giants to select? Comment below!
