Punter Steve Weatherford will become the first NFL Punter to participate in a Harlem Globetrotters game

New York Giants Steve Weatherford will become the first NFL punter to participate in a Harlem Globetrotters game when he joins a comical football routine at IZOD Center in East Rutherford on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 7:30 p.m. – one of six games in the NYC area this weekend.

Weatherford will join a long list of NFL stars to participate in “Globetrotter Football” including Ray Rice, Torrey Smith, Ben Roethlisberger, Jay Cutler, Lance Briggs, and former Giants RB Brandon Jacobs. The Globetrotters cater their famous football skit to the skills of the NFL player.

Weatherford is running a contest on his Twitter page where one fan and a guest will “party with the punter” at the game. More details on the contest available at or follow the hashtag #PartyWithThePunter.

The Globetrotters’ 2013 “You Write the Rules” World Tour will allow New York area fans to choose the rules of each game. New rules include playing with two basketballs at once, getting double the points for each basket, and more. Fans can vote for their favorite rule at
