“I’m sure he’s going through making sure that he feels confident in himself,” Coughlin said. “He does pretty much everything, but I’m sure he’s going to have some doubts when he wants to make sure that he’s strong and confident.”
*Second-year linebacker
“He’s practiced well,” Coughlin said. “Ever since camp opened, he’s practiced well, he’s run well. He appears to be around the ball.”
*Tight end
*Tyrone Wheatley, the Giants’ first-round draft choice in 1995, visited practice. Wheatley remains a close friend of former teammate Charles Way, now the Giants’ Director of Player Development. Wheatley is currently the running backs coach at Syracuse University.
*Today’s camp attendance was 2,450.
*The Giants, PYX 106 and NewsChannel 13 are teaming up with the American Red Cross to host the New York Giants Training Camp Blood Drive on Thursday, August 2, from noon to 7 p.m. The event will be held at the Best Western Sovereign Hotel, 1228 Western Avenue, Albany, N.Y. 12203, across from the team’s training camp site at the University at Albany.
Each presenting donor will have their photo taken with the Super Bowl Trophy, and the first 500 presenting donors will also receive a limited edition Giants commemorative T-shirt. Giants legends George Martin, Ottis Anderson and Joe Morris will appear throughout the day to greet donors and sign autographs.
