Q: What’s the mood of the team going into this final regular season game?
A: We’re calm. We understand exactly what we need to do. I think the pressure is off of us a little bit. We’ve just got to go out there and play football. I feel like there’s no pressure for us. We’ve just got to go out there and take care of business and we understand that. You can kind of feel the tension slip away from this team and we’re just relaxed and ready to go. Q: You guys are still alive for a playoff spot. Why do you think there is that feeling?
A: I don’t know. I just think because of all that we’ve been through this year. I think we just understand that now it’s either do or die and we’ve just got to go out there and relax and play football. That’s the only thing that’s guaranteed for us right now is this game on Sunday and all we have to do is just relax and play some ball. Q: Do you think there was a lot of tension on the team the last couple of weeks?
A: I think there was a little bit. I think whether we even knew it or not, I think there was some pressure, obviously, going into the last four games where we had to win and we had to keep doing the things we had to do with everybody looking back at last year. So I think there was a little bit of pressure there, but I think all that pressure is kind of gone and we just want to go out and play football and finish the year right if it’s going to be our last one. Q: Do you think there needs to be a lot done personnel-wise on this team to get back to where you want to be?
A: I think we’re there. I think we have the core pieces in place here. We just need to sharpen up certain spots on the field, certain things that we’ve got to sharpen up, whether it’s going to get some guys in free agency or during the draft or just sharpen the things up within ourselves. The Giants are always going to be in competition for Super Bowls and for championships. It’s just a matter of executing and having the personnel in place to do so. Q: What do you think about the Sandy Hook kids being in attendance on Sunday?
A: I think it’s great. I think it’s awesome. I spoke to the Pinto family last week just to check up on them and see how they’re doing and they’re coming along well. They’re going to be at the game also. So I’m excited to see them again and I think it’s good for them to get away a little bit and spend some time on a Sunday afternoon watching some football and getting their minds off of things a little bit. Q: What do you think about Ed Reed’s fine?
A: I think it’s pretty steep. It’s a pretty hefty fine, but it wasn’t my decision. It wasn’t anything I could do about it, but I think that’s a pretty hefty fine, to say the least. Q: Guys have been fined a lot for hitting you this year.
A: Yeah, I guess so. I guess dancing a little salsa in the end zone has been prosperous. Nobody likes to see the salsa man get hurt, so I don’t know what it is.
