Eisen's Mailbag: Adewale Ojomo's role

Posted Apr 1, 2013's Michael Eisen answers your questions!

Adewale Ojomo is a player that I couldn’t help but notice last year during preseason. Not that I am the pro here, but I noticed a lot of hustle in him. Do you think me may see more of him this year? Is there more opportunity now with Chris Canty and Osi Umenyiora gone?

Ojomo joined the team last year as a rookie free agent and had an impressive preseason, when he led the Giants with 4.0 sacks. But he had a lot of talent in front of him and dressed for only one regular-season game (Oct. 7 vs. Cleveland, when he played on special teams). Ojomo will get a chance to show what he can do in the spring and summer. Umenyiora’s departure could affect Ojomo, though Mathias Kiwanuka moves back to the line full-time Ojomo will still have three outstanding ends in front of him. Canty played tackle and is thus a non-factor regarding Ojomo. It will be interesting to see how much Ojomo has progressed and how well he performs when he’s not such an unknown.
