While I have no arguments with the current "Ring of Honor" names, the glaring omission of Kyle Rote is both puzzling and saddening. I think his stats and accomplishments more than qualify him for this honor. Your thoughts?

The list of former players and coaches that have been considered for the Giants’ Ring of Honor is lengthy. Kyle Rote has certainly been in the discussion, but those selected thus far were deemed to have stronger credentials. Rote played halfback and end for the Giants from 1951-61. His 300 receptions place him ninth on the Giants’ career list, and he played in an era when passing wasn’t nearly as prevalent as it is now. He also scored 52 career touchdowns, helped the Giants win the 1956 NFL title and led the team to three other championship games. Rote will likely be in contention to someday be included in the Ring of Honor, but there are no guarantees.
