Paysinger has been productive when he’s been on the field. He led the team in 2012 with 23 special teams tackles and he had another 19 tackles on defense. Paysinger should compete for more playing time next season. Does he have a shot to be a starter? My rapid response is to say yes, because that seems to be a position group in which jobs will be up for grabs. But realistically, it’s too early to say. Are the Giants going to sign a big-ticket free agent linebacker? Are they going to draft one on the first round? If the answer to either of those questions is yes, it could significantly impact Paysinger’s chance to start and/or play more next season. We have to see what transpires in the offseason before we can answer your question fully.
