Living in Syracuse New York makes it tough to make all the home games down in East Rutherford but the ones we do make, we try to pick the real special matchups. This year one of the games we chose to go to was Giants vs. Bills at Rich Stadium. It gives us Giants Fans in Upstate New York no bigger thrill than to stick to our neighbors to the west... AGAIN!

Our game day preparation started out like they normally do on Sunday, Bloody Mary's & Mimosas - Check, Yelling "Lets Go Giants" at the next door neighbors who are Cowboys Fans (Its all in good fun) - Check, and then pile into the party bus and head out. We didn't get 15 minutes down the New York State Thru-Way headed towards Buffalo when the Party Bus blew out its front tire. We sat on the side of the road waiting for the repair guy to come and replace the tire for 45 minutes. All the while we were on the receiving end of honks and laughs of Bills fans driving by pointing at us...but not with their index finger! The bus was fixed and we were on our way.

We arrived at our seats at Rich Stadium after Buffalo scored 14 unanswered points. Which didn't bother us because we didn't have to sit through the only cheering Buffalo fans would get to do all day. At the start of the game it was around 40 degrees with a little sun, so I chose not to go for some extra layers of clothing even though the forecast had been calling for rain and snow all week. I thought we had gotten lucky and it was going to be an above average day in December... I was absolutely WRONG. When the sun went away and the temperature fell that's when the rain started. Within minutes I was soaked along with everyone in attendance, even the Bills cheerleaders went back into their locker room and changed. I could've changed but I wasn't about to leave my seat, after all at this point we had just taken the lead in this crazy game.

At halftime the warmest place to be was the men's bathroom. I know the men's room is not your typical place to hang out but there was no place warmer.

By the fourth quarter most weekend warriors of the Bills sitting behind us either had enough with their team, the weather, or our constant loud and obnoxious cheering for Big Blue. Sometime during this quarter, it started to snow. Believe it or not this was when I felt the warmest. The water that had saturated my clothes had now frozen and actually insulated my body from the harsh wind.

The greatest part of this quarter was when my buddy called Bradshaw's 80+ yard run. After that play all you could see was Big Blue fans standing and cheering; there were only a few stragglers of Bills supporters left getting their money's worth out of their ticket.

I felt real bad for my buddy's girl friend. This was her first NFL game, she was so cold and wet that her skin was practically Giants Blue. Being from North Carolina, she really didn't know or have for that matter the types of clothes necessary for a December game. But she stuck it out and rooted the Giants on until 00:00 was on the clock.

The walk out of that stadium that day with a win was the perfect ending to an all around crazy day.

The best part of being a Giants fan is that in my family I'm the only one. I was born in Philly in '83 and we relocated to Syracuse a short time later, so my family is either Eagles fans or for the ones in western NY, Bills fans.

So I just wanted to thank all you guys for a hell of a season!
