*The Giants lost to San Diego Sunday when the Chargers scored on an 18-yard pass from Philip Rivers to Vincent Jackson with 21 seconds remaining. It was the first time an opposing team scored a touchdown against the Giants after trailing with 21 seconds or less to go since Nov. 19, 1978 - the infamous fumble game. Philadelphia's Herman Edwards scored on a botched handoff exchange between Joe Pisarcik and Larry Csonka to give the Eagles a 19-17 victory with 20 seconds remaining.
*Jackson also caught a 10-yard scoring pass and was the first opponent with two touchdown receptions since New England's Randy Moss in the 2007 season finale.
*The Giants owned a time of possession advantage of 37:47-22:13 over San Diego. The 15:34 difference was the largest for the Giants in a defeat since Dec. 15, 1990, when they fell to Buffalo, 17-13, despite holding an advantage of 15:58 (37:59-22:01).
*Brandon Jacobs is 10th in the NFL with 617 rushing yards. Ahmad Bradshaw is 14th with 515 yards. The Giants are the only team in the league with two rushers with more than 500 yards apiece.
*Jeff Feagles' 176 punting yards vs. the Chargers increased his career total to 70,021 - more than 39 miles worth of punts. He is, of course, the only player in NFL history with 70,000 yards. Former Giant Sean Landeta is second on the list with 60,707 yards. Feagles has 19,973 yards with the Giants.
*By limiting the Chargers to 226 total yards, the Giants have returned to the top of the NFL's defensive rankings after a week at No. 3. The Giants are allowing 272.3 yards per game. They also lead the NFL in first downs allowed (15.9 a game) and opponents third down conversion percentage (31.1 on 33 of 106 attempts).
*Steve Smith continues to lead the NFL in receptions with 61, one more than tight end Dallas Clark and two ahead of wide receiver Reggie Wayne, both of Indianapolis - put another way, quarterbacks named Manning are throwing to the NFL's top three pass-catchers.
Smith leads the NFC and is second in the NFL with 719 receiving yards. He leads the league with 26 third-down catches, seven more than Miami's Davone Bess.
*Lawrence Tynes leads the NFL with 82 points, nine more than New England's Stephen Gostkowski.
*The NFL's flexible scheduling is in effect for Weeks 11-17, meaning Sunday afternoon games are eligible to be moved to Sunday night. The Giants' next two home games will remain as originally scheduled: Nov. 22 vs. Atlanta, 1 p.m. and Dec. 6 vs. Dallas, 4:15 p.m.
