EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - Another day, another Giants draft choice signs a contract.

Running back Andre Brown
, the fourth-round selection from North Carolina State, today became the sixth 2009 draft choice - and the second in two days - to sign with the Giants. The other draft picks who have signed their contracts are the team's two third-round picks, wide receiver Ramses Barden and tight end Travis Beckum, quarterback Rhett Bomar (fifth round) and cornerbacks DeAndre Wright a (sixth) and Stoney Woodson (seventh).
The only unsigned draft choices are wide receiver Hakeem Nicks, the first-round selection from North Carolina, and second-round picks Clint Sintim and William Beatty.
To clear space on the roster for Brown, the Giants waived rookie Alex Derenthal, a free agent from Temple.
Brown played in 44 games with 30 starts at N.C. State and carried the ball 523 times for 2,539 yards (a 4.8-yard average) and 22 touchdowns. He also caught 70 passes for 631 yards (a 9.0-yard average) and two scores and added 341 yards on 17 kickoff returns (a 20.1-yard average) for 3,511 all-purpose yards, an average of 78.8 yards per game. His 2,539 yards on the ground rank seventh in school history.
In 2008, Brown battled back from a left foot fracture in spring camp to start all 13 games and lead the Wolfpack with a career-high 767 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 175 carries (a 4.4-yard average). He also contributed a career-high 29 receptions for 309 yards (a 10.7-yard average) and two scores.
