EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - The Giants today waived two more players and placed rookie running back Andre Brown on injured reserve to get under the NFL's mandatory roster limit.

Tight end Lee Vickers was waived and offensive lineman Andrew Carnahan was waived/injured. The moves leave the Giants with 74 players on their roster, one less than the maximum all teams must reach by 4 p.m. today. The roster reduction to the regular season limit of 53 players must be made by 4 p.m. Saturday.

Brown, the Giants' fourth-round draft choice this year, ruptured his left Achilles tendon jumping for a pass in practice on Aug. 14. He underwent surgery three days later. Brown had played well in camp prior to getting hurt. At North Carolina State, Brown carried the ball 523 times for 2,539 yards (a 4.8-yard avg.) and 22 touchdowns and caught 70 passes for 631 yards and two scores.

Vickers signed with the Giants on March 4. He entered the NFL as a defensive end with Pittsburgh in 2006 before switching to tight end. In 2007, he played in eight games with the Baltimore Ravens and caught two passes.

Carnahan was awarded off waivers to the Giants on April 22, one day after being released by Kansas City. In 2008, was inactive for nine games with the Chiefs and spent seven weeks on the Jacksonville Jaguars' practice squad.
