I want to know why for the last 10 years or so every time
the giants try to solve the weak side linebacker spot via free agency
they always get hurt Arrington I believe its Barrett Green from Detroit
and now Boley. What is the deal???????? We went from LT to
Armstead I am used to this position being a strength the play here is
disturbing I thought Mitchell played well the super bowl year but we
need someone to man this position for more than a year.
Go Giants from Spencer
Dear Spencer:
I have to admit I hadn't thought of it in that context, but it has been a
position where health as been an issue. But I don't think you can blame
it on the position. It's an injury issue with each individual player.
Kawika Mitchell played well two years ago, but the Giants weren't
willing to pay him what the Bills did. I think Boley will be an excellent
player and hopefully now that he's ready to return after his knee
surgery he will have no further health issues.
Hi Michael - Is the injury to Aaron Ross a season ender? -
The secondary is giving up big plays and certainly could use him -
There has been no news about his recovery and no news is not always
good news - much thanks Geo
Dear Geo:
Ross said it is not. In fact, this week he increased his workout regimen
and is running and cutting. Ross hopes to return after next week's bye.
But he said he won't know for certain if he's ready to play until he he's
lined up opposite a receiver. Only then will he know if he's ready to
play a game.
Due to the recent poor play of the Defense CC Brown has
been receiving a lot of heat. Moving forward, do you think Rouse will
be utilized more as a starting safety?
Yours truly,
Jay R
Dear Jay:
Tom Coughlin announced today that Rouse will start Sunday against
San Diego. He is a tall (6-4) safety, which should he helpful against the
Chargers' 6-5 receivers. And he has starting experience in the NFL.
Brown has struggled at times this season, so hopefully Rouse will
upgrade the back of the defense this week.
