The line’s blocking enabled the Giants to finish 4th in the NFL in rushing yardage with an average of 134.3 yards a game. - With the line opening holes, the Giants rushed for 289 yards in a playoff-clinching victory at Buffalo (12/23), their highest total in 22 years. - McKenzie and the line allowed just 4 total sacks in a 5-game period from Sept. 30-Oct. 28. - In 2006, started all 15 regular season games in which he played and the NFC Wild Card Game at right tackle…Was active but did not play vs. Houston (11/5) because of migraine headaches. - The offensive line helped the Giants rush for 2,156 yards, the 7th-highest total in the NFL…Thanks in part to McKenzie’s blocking, the Giants ran for 151 yards on 31 carries in the NFC Wild Card game at Philadelphia (1/7/07)…The O-line cleared the holes for the Giants’ 261-yard rushing attack at Washington (12/30), including a franchise-record 234 yards by Tiki Barber… The offensive line did not allow a sack in consecutive games (11/26 at Tennessee, 12/3 vs. Dallas). - In 2005, started all 14 regular season games in which he played and the NFC Wild Card Game at right tackle…Was inactive for 2 games with a hamstring injury (vs. Kansas City (12/17) and at Washington (12/24). - Offensive line provided enough run blocking for Barber to rush for a franchise-record 1,860 yards…The pass blocking enabled Eli Manning to pass for 3,762 yards, the 5th-highest total in franchise history - McKenzie returned to action at Oakland (12/31) and helped Barber rush for 203 yards. - The O-line’s outstanding run blocking enabled the Giants to rush for 262 yards vs. Washington (10/30), the 8th-highest total in team history and the Giants’ highest total since they ran for 289 yards vs. Pittsburgh on Dec. 21, 1985. - Started every game at right tackle for the Jets from 2002-2004. In 2004, started all 16 regular season games and two postseason games at right tackle for the Jets and his blocking helped Martin lead the NFL in rushing in 2004 with 1,697 yards. - The line’s blocking helped the Jets gain 396 yards, including 296 passing yards by Chad Pennington, in an AFC Wild Card victory at San Diego (1/8/05). - Was a member of the line that helped the offense gain 482 total yards (229 rushing, 253 passing) vs. Seattle (12/19). The line did not allow a sack for the 5th time in 2004 and helped the Jets rush for more than 200 yards for the 4th time. - In 2003, started all 16 games at right tackle and helped Martin rush for 1,308 yards. - In 2002, started all 16 games of the regular season for the 1st time in his career, plus 2 postseason games, at right tackle…Was not flagged for a penalty all season. - Helped team rush for 120 yards in AFC Divisional Playoff Game at Oakland (1/12/03) and 180 yards in AFC Wild Card Game vs. Indianapolis (1/4/03). - Made his 1st career start at right tackle in the season opener at Buffalo (9/8). - In 2001, played in 8 games as an extra tight end in short-yardage.
COLLEGE:
- Three-year starter who was only the 5th Nittany Lion to earn All-Big Ten Conference honors 3 times. - As a senior in 2000, he was an All-Big Ten 2nd-team selection after starting 11 games at left tackle. - Collected 54 knockdown blocks as the Lions averaged 325.7 yards per game. - Was an All-Big Ten Conference 1st-team choice as a junior in 1999, when he was on the field for 908 plays and delivered 85 pancake blocks as the team generated 5,014 yards. - In 1998, he was All-Big Ten 2nd team after starting the first 9 games at left guard before injuries hampered him late in the season.
OFF-THE-FIELD ACTIVITY:
- Kareem hosts an annual football camp free of charge for kids in his hometown of Willingboro, N.J., along with fellow Willingboro native Shaun Phillips of the San Diego Chargers. The 3-day camp includes football instruction as well as a life skills session. - Attended the “Taste of the New York Giants” fundraiser dinner at Giants Stadium. - Joined teammates to visit wounded soldiers at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, in Washington, D.C. prior to the Super Bowl champions’ trip to the White House. - Greeted fans and signed autographs at the Giants’ 2008 Draft Day Party at Giants Stadium. - Attended the United Way of NYC’s 2007 “Gridiron Gala” fundraiser dinner. - Showed off his culinary expertise in the Giants Player Developments’ “Gridiron Chef Cook-off.” - Attended the “Pigskin Ball” dinner, benefitting Coach Coughlin’s Jay Fund Foundation. - Signed autographs and greeted fans at Big Blue Travel’s “Giants Wrap-Up Breakfast.” - Joined numerous teammates at the Ronald McDonald House of NYC for a summer barbeque with the kids and their families. - Attended a fundraiser dinner for My Sister’s Place, a domestic violence shelter for women and their children that has been dedicated as the “Giants Courage House.” - Attended Rich Seubert’s Celebrity Trap Shoot in Wisconsin to raise funds for cardiac research at the Marshfield Clinic. - Attended the United Way of NYC’s 2008 “Gridiron Gala” fundraiser dinner. - Spoke to students at the New Rochelle D.A.R.E. graduation, congratulating them on their promise not to abuse drugs and alcohol. - Received an honorary proclamation from the New Jersey State Assembly at the State House in Trenton congratulating the Giants on their victory in the Super Bowl. - Spoke to the South Orange, N.J., Junior Police Academy, encouraging the young participants to be active and positive members of their community.
