GIANTS NOTE:

-           Made a tremendous impact in the Giants defensive backfield throughout the playoffs run…Started all 4 games and accounted for 3 takeaways (2 interceptions and 1 fumble recovery).

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:

-           Has played in 41 regular season games with 15 starts and started all 5 postseason games in which he’s played at cornerback…Webster has recorded 106 tackles (89 solo), 2 interceptions, 1 sack, 18 passes defensed, 4 forced fumbles and 1 fumble recovery…In the playoffs he has 17 tackles (11 solo), 2 interceptions, 7 passes defensed and a fumble recovery.

-           In 2007, Webster played in 14 regular season games with 3 starts at right cornerback and started all 4 postseason games at right cornerback…Finished with 16 tackles (10 solo), 1 interception (which he returned for a touchdown), 3 passes defensed and 4 special teams tackles…Was inactive vs. Dallas (11/11) and vs. Minnesota (11/25)…Added 19 tackles (4 solo), 2 interceptions, 7 passes defensed and a fumble recovery in the postseason.

-           Started the first 3 games of the 2007 season, including the season opener at Dallas (9/9/07), where finished with 3 tackles (1 solo) and 1 QB hit

-           Recorded 2 tackles and his 1^st interception of the season at Buffalo (12/23)…Picked off a Trent Edwards pass in the 4^th quarter and returned it 34 yards for his 1^st career touchdown.

-           Returned to the starting lineup and played an outstanding game in the NFC Wild Card Game at Tampa Bay (1/6)…Finished with 2 passes defensed and 1 interception…Helped hold Tampa Bay receiver Joey Galloway to one 9-yard catch…Intercepted Jeff Garcia’s pass to Galloway in the end zone in the 3rd quarter…On special teams, recovered Michael Spurlock’s fumble on he 2^nd-half kickoff that was forced by Tank Daniels and set up Lawrence Tynes’ 25-yard field goal, which gave the Giants a 17-7 lead.

-           Contributed 6 tackles (3 solo) and 2 passes defensed in the NFC Divisional Playoff Game at Dallas (1/13)…Help limit Terrell Owens to 4 catches for 49 yards and a touchdown.

-           Had 3 tackles, 1 interception and 1 pass defensed in the NFC Championship Game at Green Bay (1/20)…Set up Tynes’ game-winning 47-yard field goal by intercepting a Brett Favre pass to Donald Driver on the 2^nd play of overtime and returned it 9 yards…Tackled Ryan Grant for a 7-yard loss in the 3^rd quarter…Tackled Koren Robinson for a 1-yard loss after a reception in the 1^st quarter.

-           Finished with 1 assisted tackle and 1 pass defensed vs. New England in Super Bowl XXLII (2/3)…Tackles Wes Welker for a 2-yard loss after a reception in the 3rd quarter…Broke up a Tom Brady deep pass to WR Randy Moss on the Patriots final drive.

-           In 2006, played in 12 games with 10 starts at left cornerback…Missed 4 games with a toe injury… Finished the season with 52 tackles (42 solo), 1 sack, 1 interception, 10 passes defensed, 2 forced fumbles and 1 fumble recovery.

-           Placed on injured reserve after injuring his hip in the season finale at Washington (12/30).

-           Started at left cornerback and finished with 4 tackles (1 solo), 2 passes defensed and a forced fumble vs. Chicago (11/12)…Forced Muhsin Muhammad to fumble at the Giants’ 1-yard line to save a touchdown in the 3rd quarter. Had 1 fumble recovery vs. Houston (11/5).

-           Posted 4 solo tackles, 1 sack, 1 pass defensed, and 1 forced fumble at Atlanta (10/15)…Recorded his only sack of the season when he hit Michael Vick to force a fumble in the 1st quarter…Broke up a Vick attempt to Roddy White in the 4th quarter.

-           Finished with 6 tackles (5 solo), 1 interception and 2 passes defensed at Seattle (9/24)…Intercepted Matt Hasselbeck’s first pass of the game for his 1^st career interception.

-           As a rookie in 2005, played in 15 regular season games with 2 starts and started the NFC Wild Card Game…Finished the season with 38 tackles (37 solo), 5 passes defensed and 2 forced fumbles.

-           Made his 1st career start at right cornerback at Seattle (11/27) and finished with a team-high 10 solo tackles and 1 pass defensed.

-           Made NFL debut with 5 tackles as the 3rd cornerback vs. Arizona (9/11).

COLLEGE:

-           Played in 48 games with 29 starts in 4 years at LSU.

-           Originally recruited as a wide receiver, Webster shifted to the secondary as a sophomore and became one of the most decorated defensive backs in school history.

-           A 2-time 1st-team All-America at cornerback for the Tigers, he was also a 3-time 1st-team All-Southeastern Conference selection and was twice named a semifinalist for the Thorpe Award, which goes to college football's top defensive back.

-           Finished career with 117 tackles (88 solo), 16 interceptions and 51 pass breakups.

-           Was a 1st-team All-America selection by the American Football Coaches Association and The Sporting News and a 2nd-team choice by the Walter Camp Foundation as a senior.

-           Associated Press All-Southeastern Conference pick and a 2nd-team selection by the league’s coaches.

-           First-team All-SEC pick by the AP and the league’s coaches as a junior in 2003, when he started all 14 games for LSU’s national champions and had 46 tackles (36 solo) and 7 interceptions.

OFF-THE-FIELD ACTIVITY:

-           Participated in the Athletes in Action youth football clinic at Giants Stadium.

-           Joined numerous teammates at the Ronald McDonald House of NYC for a summer barbeque with the kids and their families.

-           Hosted kids from the Junior Giants Fan Club for a day of fun at Giants Stadium.
