CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:

-          In postseason play, Jacobs has rushed for 205 yards on 64 carries (a 3.2-yard avg.) and 3 scores and added 4 catches for 29 yards and a score.
-          In 2007, he played in 11 regular season games with 9 starts and started all 4 postseason games. Jacobs rushed for 1,009 yards and 4 touchdowns on 202 carries, despite missing 5 games and most of a 6th with knee and hamstring injuries. Jacobs is the first Giants back other than Barber to rush for more than 1,000 yards since Brown in 1998 (1,063)…Rushed for at least 100 yards 5 times.
-         Jacobs’ 1,009 yards gave the Giants a 1,000-yard rusher for the 6th year in a row (Barber had the first 5). The San Diego Chargers are the only other NFL team with a 1,000-yard rusher each season since 2002. LaDainian Tomlinson had all the 1,000-yard efforts.
-       Jacobs combined with Plaxico Burress (1,025 receiving yards) to give the Giants a 1,000-yard rusher and receiver in the same season for the seventh time in their history.
-       During the 2007 postseason, Jacobs rushed for a touchdown in each of the Giants’ first two postseason victories and became the first Giant to run for a touchdown in consecutive postseason games since Ottis Anderson on Jan. 25, 1987 (Super Bowl XXI) and Jan. 7, 1990 (NFC Divisional Playoff Game)…Jacobs scored the Giants’ first 2 touchdowns at Tampa Bay on a 5-yard pass from Eli Manning and an 8-yard run to become the 1st Giant in history to score a rushing and a receiving touchdown in the same postseason game…Jacobs was the first Giants running back to catch a touchdown pass in a postseason game since fullback Greg Comella in the 2000 NFC Championship Game. Prior to that, the last Giants back with a postseason touchdown catch was Leon Bright at Philadelphia on Dec. 27, 1981.
-           Missed 3 games in September of 2007 with a knee injury suffered on opening night in Dallas, where he rushed for 26 yards on 6 carries.
-           Was named NFC Offensive Player of the Month for October. The Giants were 4-0 in October, scoring an NFC-high 112 points and leading the NFL with 705 rushing yards. Jacobs – and the offensive line that opened the holes for him – were key components to that success…Jacobs led the league with 424 rushing yards during the month. He set career highs three times with the first 3 100-yard games of his career. Jacobs averaged 5.7 yards on his 74 carries, caught 6 passes for 24 yards and scored 2 touchdowns in October.

It was the first 100-yard game of his career. Jacobs became the first Giant other than Tiki Barber to rush for 100 yards since Ron Dayne ran for 111 yards against New Orleans on Sept. 30, 2001. Barber had had the Giants’ previous 37 100-yard rushing games (including 1 in the postseason).
-           Missed games vs. Minnesota (11/25) and at Chicago (12/2) with a hamstring injury.
-           Finished with a career-high 145 yards on 24 carries with 2 touchdowns at Buffalo (12/23)…Scored twice in the 2nd quarter, on runs of 6 and 43 yards, the longest run of his career… Helped the Giants rush for 289 yards, their highest total since they rushed for 289 yards on Dec. 21, 1985 in a 28-10 victory over Pittsburgh…Rookie Ahmad Bradshaw rushed for 151 yards and a touchdown to give the Giants 2 100-yard rushers in the same game for the 1st time in their history. The Giants became the first team to have two runners with 140 or more yards in the same game since Nov. 11, 2001, when St. Louis’ Marshall Faulk ran for 183 yards and Trung Canidate added 145 in a game against Carolina.
-           In 2006, Jacobs played in 15 games (he suited up but did not play vs. New Orleans) and the NFC Wild Card Game at Philadelphia…Finished the season with 97 carries for 432 yards and a team-best 9 rushing touchdowns…Added 11 receptions for 149 yards, with a long catch of 43 yards.
-           Had 8 carries for a career-high 54 yards and a touchdown vs. Indianapolis (9/10)…His 1-yard touchdown run in the 4th quarter brought the Giants within 2 points of the Colts at 23-21.

-           Scored touchdowns on runs of 1 and 8 yards on his only 2 carries of the game vs. Chicago (11/12).
-           Played in all 16 games as a rookie in 2005, when he was used primarily in short-yardage and goal-line situations and on special teams…Finished the season with 38 carries for 99 yards and 7 touchdowns, with a long run of 21 yards…Converted 20 of 32 opportunities on rushing attempts of 4 or less yards to go.
-           Jacobs was the first Giants rookie to score 7 touchdowns since Bobby Johnson in 1984 and the first to rush for 7 touchdowns since Bill Paschal ran for 10 scores in 1943.
-           Scored touchdowns in each of his first 2 games, the 1st Giants rookie to accomplish that feat since Barber in 1997. Scored on a 5-yard vs. Arizona (9/11) and a 1-yard run at New Orleans (9/19).
-           Carried 6 times for season-high 39 yards and a touchdown in his NFL debut vs. the Cardinals.

Quote of the Week
“You have to give Eli and the receivers a lot of credit. They made a lot of big plays down field. I think it really opened up the run game. And you can attribute it the other way, too, that our run game opened up the pass game. We wanted to come out fast, and we did. We are certainly very ecstatic about where we are. Coming off the bye week, everybody was concerned. But again, we talked about coming out fast and we did. After scoring on the first drive we never looked back." - C Shaun O'Hara on the Giants offensive performance
