- A 4-year starter (1995-98) at Arizona State. - Started every game at center as a senior, earning Walter Camp All-America selection and 1st-team All-Pac 10 Conference honors. - One of 12 finalists for the Lombardi Award, given to the nation’s best lineman. - Received All-Pac 10 honors as a junior, when he played left tackle before moving to center for the final 6 contests. - Earned honorable mention all-conference awards as a sophomore, seeing time at both tackle and center. - Majored in special education.
OFF-THE-FIELD ACTIVITY:
- Ruegy’s Readers was developed by Ruegamer, a Las Vegas native, in order to make a difference in the education of young people. The mission is to create well-rounded students through literacy by providing additional support to public and private elementary school libraries. This new program will encourage kids to read more, increase the utilization of a school’s library, and emphasize the significance of reading as a lifelong skill. Each year, Grey selects 5 new elementary schools and donates $3,000 in new books to their library. Two students from each elementary school are also selected to be a Ruegy's Reader, and are able to select one book from the list of donated books in which their individual names will be attached. He also hosts an annual “Bowling for Books” fundraiser to advance his efforts. - Has been a strong supporter of The Wounded Warriors organization, hosting wounded soldiers at Giants games, and assisting the organization whenever possible. - Made a Giants’ “What Moves U” visit to Anthony Wayne Middle School in Wayne, N.J., to speak to students about the importance of physical activity. - Entertained kids from Hackensack University Medical Center at Coach Coughlin’s Jay Fund Foundation Ice Cream Social, held at Giants Stadium. - Attended the “Taste of the New York Giants” fundraiser dinner at Giants Stadium. - Joined teammates to visit wounded soldiers at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, in Washington, D.C. prior to the Super Bowl champions’ trip to the White House. - Participated in the 2008 Giants Foundation Golf Outing. - Led kids through football drills at the NFL’s “Play 60” Youth Football Festival in Central Park. - Attended the Giants’ annual fundraiser dinner benefitting The Ronald McDonald House of NYC. - Attended the “Pigskin Ball” dinner, benefitting Coach Coughlin’s Jay Fund Foundation. - Joined numerous teammates at the Ronald McDonald House of NYC for a summer barbeque with the kids and their families. - Hosted kids from the Junior Giants Fan Club for a day of fun at Giants Stadium. - Visited veterans at Lyons Veteran’s Hospital in Lyons, N.J. - Attended BGC Partners’ Charity Day in NYC.

- Given name Christopher Grey Ruegamer. - Name is pronounced ROOG-ah-mer. - Born in Scottsdale, Ariz. - Married to Laurie. - Was a 3-year letter winner in football at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nev. - Played tackle, guard, center, linebacker and tight end. - Also was a 3-time letterman in track, competing in the shot put and discus. - Recorded an undefeated record in heavyweight wrestling as a senior. - Uncle, Bob, played with the University of Minnesota in the 1961 and 1962 Rose Bowls. - Followed in uncle’s footsteps 35 years later, when Arizona State played in the 1997 Rose Bowl. - Uncle also spent time in the Minnesota Vikings’ training camp as an offensive lineman.
