-           Originally a 3rd round (81st pick overall) draft choice by the Giants in 2007.

GIANTS NOTES:

-           Alford joined Aaron Ross, Steve Smith, Zak DeOssie, Kevin Boss, Michael Johnson, Adam Koets and Ahmad Bradshaw as 2007 Giants draft choices who contributed in their rookie season.
-           Made a huge play in Super Bowl XLII when he sacked New England quarterback Tom Brady for a 10-yard loss with 19 seconds remaining.
-           Has proved to be a valuable and versatile reserve along the defensive line seeing action at both defensive tackle and end.
-           Provided consistent snapping on field goals and extra points in his first 2 seasons.

-           Played in 46 games with 41 starts for the Nittany Lions...Alford recorded 118 tackles (60 solo), 32 tackles for losses and 19 sacks...He also recovered 4 fumbles, forced 3 fumbles, deflected 12 passes and registered 3 quarterback pressures...His 19 sacks leave him tied with Bruce Clark (1976-79) and LaVar Arrington (1997-99) for 8th on the school's career list...

High School, about 30 minutes from Giants Stadium...Three-year starter who was selected first-team All-State, U.S. Army All-American and was listed among the G&W Recruiting Report Top 50 defensive players in the nation.
