- Spent the first game of the season with St. Louis Rams before being released and then awarded off waivers to the Giants…His blocking helped the Giants rush for 2,148 yards, the NFL’s 4th-highest total. - Hedgecock spends his offseasons working on 2 farms his family owns in Wallburg, N.C.

COLLEGE:
- Returned to fullback position for senior season after playing defensive end as sophomore and junior..Played fullback during redshirt freshman year for Tar Heels…Recorded 83 tackles (57 solo), 1.5 sacks, three fumble recoveries, and two forced fumbles while playing defense two seasons…On offense, gained 130 yards with 2 touchdowns on 34 carries and caught 6 passes for 42 yards.
OFF-THE-FIELD ACTIVITY:
- Attended the “Taste of the New York Giants” fundraiser dinner at Giants Stadium. - Greeted fans and signed autographs at the Giants’ 2008 Draft Day Party at Giants Stadium. - Participated in the Athletes in Action youth football clinic at Giants Stadium. - Attended the Giants’ annual fundraiser dinner benefiting The Ronald McDonald House of NYC. - Signed autographs and greeted fans at Big Blue Travel’s “Giants Wrap-Up Breakfast.” - Joined teammates to visit wounded soldiers at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, in Washington, D.C. prior to making the Super Bowl trip to the White House. - Thanked firefighters from Englewood, NJ, for their daily commitment to our community with a visit as part of the Giants annual “Adopt a Firehouse” program.

- Graduated with communications degree…Played fullback, tight end, and linebacker at Ledford (Thomasville, N.C.) High…Rushed for 1,799 yards and 17 touchdowns in 10 games as senior…Rushed for 3,673 yards and 44 touchdowns in career…Super Prep all-America…Also earned honorable mention all-America USA Today and Prep Star all-region…Three-time all-county and all-conference selection (tight end as sophomore and fullback as junior and senior)…Played basketball and ran track…Born Madison Smith Hedgecock in Winston-Salem, N.C. on Aug. 27, 1981.
