GIANTS NOTES:
- Tyree made one of the great plays in Super Bowl history when he secured the ball against his helmet for a 32-yard reception while being hounded by New England safety Rodney Harrison. The catch, which followed an Eli Manning escape from the Patriots’ pass rush, helped set up the Giants’ game-winning touchdown.
- One of the most productive and consistent special teams players in the NFL.
- Was named to his 1st Pro Bowl after the 2005 season.
- Specializes in downing punts inside the 5-yard line.

- Has played in 73 regular season games with 5 starts and in 6 postseason games…Tyree has 54 receptions for 650 yards and 4 touchdowns…Has also contributed 85 special teams tackles….Tyree has 4 postseason catches, all in 2007, including 3 in the Super Bowl.
- In 2007, he played in 12 regular season games and all 4 postseason games, with no starts….Caught 4 regular season passes for 35 yards along and added 9 special teams tackles…Contributed 4 catches for 47 yards and 1 touchdown during the playoffs.
- Missed the 1st 2 games of the season at Dallas (9/9) and vs. Green Bay (9/16) while recovering from a fractured wrist suffered in the preseason…Missed games vs. Washington (12/16) and at Buffalo (12/23) following the death of his mother.
- Had 3 receptions for 43 yards and a touchdown in Super Bowl XXLII vs. New England (2/3/08)…Tyree got open in the end zone and scored the Giants’ 1st touchdown on a 5-yard reception from Eli Manning that gave the Giants a 10-7 lead with 11:05 remaining in the 4th quarter…Made one of the most spectacular plays in Super Bowl history with a leaping 32-yard reception on third-and-5 with Patriots defenders close by after Manning eluding several Patriot defensive lineman to get the pass off. The catch set up the Giants’ game-winning touchdown.
- Early action was on special teams at Chicago (12/2), then played as the 3rd receiver in the 4th quarter and caught 2 pass for 32 yards with long of 24 yards, his 1st receptions of the season.
- In 2006, Tyree played in all 16 regular season games with 1 start, as well as the NFC Wild Card Game in Philadelphia…Finished 3rd on the team with 13 special teams tackles.
- Recorded a career-high 19 receptions for 197 yards and 2 touchdowns.
- Had 2 catches for 15 yards and a touchdown at Carolina (12/10)…His 12-yard reception on 4th-and-10 extended a drive that would result in Jay Feely’s 32-yard field goal…Tyree’s 3-yard touchdown reception in the 3rd quarter extended the Giants’ lead to 27-10.
- Started at flanker vs. Chicago (11/12) and finished with 4 receptions for 38 yards and 1 special teams tackle.
- Posted a team-high 5 receptions for 72 yards and a touchdown at Seattle (9/24)…Had a game-long reception of 33 yards in the 4th quarter…Replaced split end Plaxico Burress in the second half.
- In 2005, played in 13 regular season games and the NFC Wild Card Game vs. Carolina and was again one of the NFL’s finest special teams players
- Was selected to his 1st Pro Bowl team as the NFC special teams player…Tyree was also named the special teams player on the Pro Football Weekly/Professional Football Writers of America All-Pro team.
- Tied with James Butler for 2nd on the team with 21 special teams tackles (19 solo), 1 one behind team leader Chase Blackburn…Also had 5 receptions for 52 yards and a touchdown, all at San Diego (9/25).
- Missed 3 games with an elbow injury.
- Was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week after blocking a punt vs. Philadelphia (11/20) , his 1st action after missing 3 games (vs. Washington, at San Francisco and vs. Minnesota) with an elbow injury suffered vs. Denver (10/23).
- Blocked Reggie Hodges’ punt with 4:14 remaining in the 2nd quarter. The Giants recovered the ball at the Philadelphia 1, leading to Manning’s touchdown pass to Amani Toomer.
- In 2004, played in all 16 games with 1 start and had 10 receptions for 155 yards with 1 touchdown. Also recorded a team-high 23 special teams tackles…Was named first alternate special teams player to the NFC Pro Bowl team.
- Started at split end in place of the injured Toomer in the season finale vs. Dallas (1/2) and had a team-high 7 receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown. A 15-yard touchdown reception in the 4th quarter was the 1st of his career.
- Was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week after recording a team-high 3 special teams tackles at Minnesota (10/31). Helped down a Jeff Feagles punt on the 1-yard line in the first quarter. Downed a 30-yard Feagles' punt on the 4-yard line in the 1st quarter vs. Cleveland (9/26).
- As a rookie in 2003, he played in all 16 games, one of 4 Giants rookies to do so (the others were David Diehl, Visanthe Shiancoe and Carson Dach).
- Started the season’s final 3 games...Led the team with 19 special teams tackles and was named the special teams player on Pro Football Weekly’s All-Rookie team…Also had 16 receptions for 211 yards.
