Carr was the Houston Texans’ 1st-ever draft choice in 2002….He was the 12th quarterback selected number 1 overall since the 1970 NFL-AFL merger. With Eli Manning and Carr, the Giants are the 2nd team in history to have 2 quarterbacks who were selected 1st overall in their respective drafts on their roster at the same time. The 2007 Panthers were the 1st team with that distinction with Vinny Testaverde (1987) and Carr (2002). This is Carr’s 2nd stint with the Giants. He was Manning’s backup in 2008 and 2009.
