CAREER NOTES:
Played in 40 games with 15 starts at Virginia Tech…Carried 462 times for 2,662
yards (5.8-yard avg.) and 18 touchdowns…Caught 37 passes for 363 yards (9.8-
yard avg.) and 5 scores…Returned 61 kickoffs for 1,324 yards (21.7-yard avg.)
and 2 touchdowns…Touched the ball a total of 560 times for 4,349 all-purpose
yards, an average of 7.8 yards per attempt and 108.7 yards per game…Ran for
more than 100 yards in 12 games, the 4th-best career total in school history…
His ten 100-yard rushing performances in 2011 tied the school single-season
record set by Ryan Williams in 2009…His 2,662 yards rushing rank 8th in school
history…His 1,709 yards on the ground in 2011 broke the old school record of
1,655 yards by Williams in 2009…Generated 2,253 all-purpose yards in 2011, the
most ever by a junior in the Atlantic Coast Conference, topping the previous mark
of 1,906 yards by former Giant Tiki Barber of Virginia in 1995…The only other
ACC performers to gain at least 2,000 all-purpose yards in a season were Sammy
Watkins of Clemson (2,288 in 2011), C.J. Spiller of Clemson (record 2,680 in
2009), Thomas Jones of Virginia (2,054 in 1999) and Don McCauley of North
Carolina (2,021 in 1970)…Ranks 2nd in school history with 61 kickoff returns,
topped by only Jon Jeffries (67; 1987-91)…Set the school single-season record by
returning 2 kickoffs for touchdowns in 2010 (also tied the Tech career record that
he shares with Terry Strock 1959-61)…Placed 4th on the school’s career list with
1,324 kickoff return yards.

2011 SEASON:
Wilson was a 2nd-team Associated Press All-America tailback and 1st-team All-
ACC…Earned league MVP and Offensive Player of the Year recognition…Won
the Dudley Award, given to the state's top Division I football player…Started
all 14 games…Tied the school season-record with ten 100-yard rushing
performances, including a string of 7 in a row, the longest streak by a Tech
ball carrier since Frank Beamer became the head coach in 1987…Led the
ACC and ranked 8th in the nation with an average of 122.1 yards per game
rushing, carrying 290 times for a school-record 1,709 yards (5.9-yard avg.) and 9
touchdowns…Also caught 22 passes for 129 yards (5.9-yard avg.) and a score...
Led team for the second straight year with 22 kickoff returns for 415 yards (18.9-
yard avg.)…Totaled 2,253 all-purpose yards, ranking 2nd in the league and 8th in
the nation with an average of 160.9 yards per game…Opened season by rushing
for 162 yards and 3 touchdowns vs. Appalachian State... Ran for 138 yards
on 26 carries vs. East Carolina…Carried 26 times for 132 yards and 1 score at
Marshall...Rushed for 123 yards on 20 carries vs. Clemson...Ran for 128 yards on
23 carries, caught 4 passes for 25 yards and returned 5 kickoffs for 88 yards vs.
Miami…Rushed 17 times for 136 yards and a touchdown, including a long run of
57 yards, at Wake Forest...Picked up 134 yards on 17 carries, including a 42-yard
score, vs. Boston College. Went over the 1,000-yard mark for the season with a
22-yard rush in the 4th quarter...Rushed for 148 yards on 23 carries at Duke...Ran
for a career-high 175 yards on 23 carries at Georgia Tech…Ran for 152 yards on
24 attempts at Virginia.

2010 SEASON:
Played in 13 games with 1 start (Miami)…Sat out the game vs. North Carolina
with mononucleosis…Finished 2nd on the team and 14th in the ACC with
113 carries for 619 yards (5.5-yard avg.) and 5 touchdowns…Caught 15
passes for 234 yards (15.6-yard avg.) and 4 scores…Returned 22 kickoffs
for 584 yards (an ACC-best 26.6-yard avg.) and a Tech single-season record
2 touchdowns…Finished 3rd in the league with 1,437 all-purpose yards, an
average of 110.5 yards a game…Returned 6 kickoffs for 122 yards vs. Boise
State…Rushed for 89 yards on 12 carries vs. East Carolina, including touchdown
runs of 3 and 8 yards…Returned the 2nd-half kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown at
N.C. State…Turned in a 68-yard touchdown run vs. Central Michigan…Ran for
105 yards on 15 carries vs. Wake Forest…Caught a 65-yard pass for a touchdown
vs. Duke…Had a 90-yard kickoff return for the game-winning touchdown with
2:23 remaining vs. Georgia Tech. Also rushed for a 15-yard score in that game.

2009 SEASON:
As a true freshman, played in all 13 games as a reserve tailback…Finished
4th on the team with 334 rushing yards on 59 carries (5.7-yard avg.) and 4
touchdowns…Had 17 kickoff returns for 325 yards (19.1-yard avg.)…In his 2nd
collegiate game, he led the team with 165 yards on 12 carries and scored on a
36-yard run…Picked up 54 yards on 5 carries at Virginia, scoring on a 10-yard
run…Added another touchdown on a 3-yard run vs. Tennessee in the Chick-fil-A
Bowl.

TRACK:
Wilson competed with both the Virginia Tech indoor and outdoor track teams,
concentrating as a jumper, earning All-America honors as a junior…In the 2010-
11 season, he finished 3rd in the triple-jump at the ACC Indoor Track & Field
Championships…Splitting time between football and track during the spring, he
participated in the ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, where he placed
2nd in the triple jump and qualified for the NCAA Nationals…Placed 6th in the
event at the NCAA Outdoor Championships…In the 2009-10 season, Wilson
finished 4th in the triple jump at both the ACC Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field
Championships.

HIGH SCHOOL:
Attended George Washington High School in Danville, Virginia…As a senior,
Wilson set school records with 2,291 rushing yards and 35 touchdowns…Named
1st-team all-district and all-region selection and the Gatorade Player of the
Year for Virginia…Also named All-America by Super Prep and Prep Star All-
American…A member of the USA Football’s 2009 Junior National Team, which
competed in the sport’s 1st junior world championship…As a junior, he rushed
for 1,551 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns and added 2 touchdowns on returns
and 1 on a reception…Rushed for 47 yards on 13 carries, and caught 2 passes for
50 more and scored 2 touchdowns in the Hawaii/Polynesia Mainland Bowl in
December 2008, earning MVP honors…In addition to his success on the gridiron,
he placed 1st at the Nike Indoor Nationals for the triple jump.
