2011 SEASON:
Named All-Conference USA 1st-team for the 2nd consecutive season…Named the conference’s best offensive lineman by the league’s coaches…Lombardi Award nominee…Selected to play in the Senior Bowl n his hometown of Mobile...Started all 11 games in which he played at left tackle…Missed the Central Florida game due to flu-like symptoms…Recorded 94 knockdowns and 11 touchdown resulting blocks…McCants led a young offensive line that allowed just 18 sacks on 440 pass plays (he was not charged with any of them).
2010 SEASON:
Named 1st-team All-Conference USA…Started all 12 games at left tackle and was credited with 12 touchdown-resulting blocks and 97 knockdowns…Did not allow any sacks as the Blazers led the league and ranked tied for 15th in the nation in fewest sacks allowed (12)…Helped the offense rank 30th in the nation in total yards (422.8 per game)… The Blazers also ranked 24th in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision in passing (267.0 yards a game).
2009 SEASON:
McCants returned from a year of inactivity to start all 12 games at left tackle and was named All-Conference USA honorable mention…Helped UAB rank 7th in the nation with an average of 229.9 rushing per game…Registered 83 knockdowns and 11 touchdown-resulting blocks…Team set a school record with 5,111 yards in total offense.
2008 SEASON:
Sat out the season after being ruled academically ineligible, but was allowed to participate in practice.
2007 SEASON:
Started 7 games at left tackle during his first year at UAB…Made his collegiate debut as a starter vs. Michigan State and stood in the lineup for the first 4 contests before he was replaced for 5 games…Returned to the lineup vs. Central Florida and started the final 3 games.
HIGH SCHOOL:
McCants attended Williamson High School in Mobile, Alabama…Played the tuba in the school band until lettering in football during his senior season…Received honorable mention on the Mobile Press-Register All-Region team as a senior...Helped Williamson High advance to the class 5A state playoffs in 2006.
