Ken Sternfeld

Biography

Ken Sternfeld is in his third season as the Giants’ Director of Pro Personnel, a position he assumed in 2012 after spending the previous 10 season as the team’s assistant director. Sternfeld and his staff are responsible for scouting the Giants’ upcoming opponent and presenting weekly reports to the coaching staff, as well as continually evaluating NFL personnel, including active players and free agents.


Sternfeld joined the Giants on May 12, 2002 after spending 21 years with the New England Patriots in a variety of capacities, primarily in scouting. Prior to joining the Giants, he served as a college scout on the East Coast.


The Giants made six playoff appearances and won two Super Bowls in Sternfeld’s first 12 seasons with the franchise. Sternfeld has more than 20 years of pro and college scouting experience and has contributed to 10 playoff teams and three Super Bowl champions.


Sternfeld has participated in five Super Bowls, and in all of them he either worked for the Patriots or played against them. The first was Super Bowl XX, when Sternfeld was a member of New England’s scouting department and the Patriots played Chicago. Sternfeld was also a member of the Patriots’ organization when they played in Super Bowl XXXI in January 1997 and won Super Bowl XXXVI five years later. Sternfeld has participated in two Super Bowls with the Giants, winning the championship in 2007 and 2011.


Sternfeld joined the Patriots as an intern in 1981. The following year, he began a two-year stint as an administrative aide. In 1984, Sternfeld was named the Patriots’ ticket office manager, a post he held for three years.


In 1987, he joined the scouting department for five years before returning to the ticket office, where, during his second tenure, franchise tickets sales reached record highs.


Sternfeld returned to the scouting department in January of 1995 and remained there for the rest of his tenure in New England.


Sternfeld is a native of Long Island. He attended Locust Valley (N.Y.) High School(N.Y.)in Locust Valley, N.Y., before earning a business degree at Northeastern University. Sternfeld and his wife Anne have two children, Anna and Tim.
