CBS Sports' 7-round, Giants-only mock draft

The final countdown is on as we are less than three weeks away from the start of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Analysts have been updating their first-round predictions recently as the pro day circuit continues to roll on.

This week, CBS Sports' Josh Edwards released a seven-round, Giants-only mock draft, predicting all six of the team's selections. The draft analyst split the six picks evenly between the offense and the defense.

Here are Edwards' selections in his Giants-only mock draft:

Pick for No. 6: Malik Nabers, WR, LSU

Analysis: "Malik Nabers may be the best wide receiver in this draft class when it is all said and done. His skill set allows him to line up in a variety of positions and he has great body control to make plays down the field after the catch. His addition to that wide receiver room would give New York its first No. 1 wide receiver since Odell Beckham Jr. departed."

Nabers finished the 2023 campaign with 1,569 receiving yards, his second consecutive year with more than 1,000 yards.

The 6-foot-0, 200-pound wideout brought in 72 passes for 1,017 yards and three touchdowns as a sophomore in 2022. He followed that up with a dominant campaign that saw him catch 89 passes and lead the FBS in receiving yards while ranking No. 2 in receiving touchdowns at the conclusion of the regular-season.

Nabers registered the most 10+ yard plays, 20+ yard plays and 30+ yard plays this past season. He finished his collegiate career as LSU's all-time leader in receptions and receiving yards, and was named Unanimous All-American and first-team All-SEC for his standout 2023 campaign.

Nabers, who doesn't turn 21 until July 28, is one of the youngest players projected to be taken in the first round of this year's draft. The young wideout shined at the LSU pro day, as he ran an unofficial 4.35 40-yard dash and also registered a 42-inch vertical and a 10'9" broad jump.

Pick for No. 47: Tyler Nubin, S, Minnesota

Analysis: "Tyler Nubin is a smart, instinctual safety with great ball production throughout his collegiate career. As the Giants look to fill the void left by Xavier McKinney, who signed with the Packers in free agency, Nubin as potentially the best option available. With two explosive pass rushers, New York can potentially benefit from a rangy playmaker on the backend."

After a slow start to his collegiate career, Nubin really took off over the last three seasons. As a junior in 2021, the 6-foot-1, 199-pound safety intercepted three passes in 13 games. He followed that up the next season with four interceptions, 55 total tackles (37 solo) and a forced fumble across 11 games on his way to being named second-team All-Big Ten.

After foregoing the NFL Draft last year, Nubin returned for his fifth season at Minnesota and put together his best performance yet. Starting all 12 games at safety, he led the Golden Gophers with five interceptions, which gave him a program-record 13 interceptions for his career. Nubin also finished tied for the second-most tackles on the team (53) while picking up another forced fumble, and was named second-team All-American by the Associated Press and first-team All-Big Ten.

NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah released his updated ranking of the top 50 prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Pick for No. 70: Cooper Beebe, IOL, Kansas State

Analysis: "New York drafted center John Michael Schmitz in the first round a year ago and it is unlikely that they move on from right tackle Evan Neal right now. The best way to upgrade the offensive line would be to identify a few long-term starters at guard. Cooper Beebe plays with a mean streak and could be the tone setter for that entire unit."

Beebe put together quite an impressive career for the Wildcats. The 6-foot-3, 322-pound lineman played in 51 career games with 48 starts across numerous positions on the line, including right tackle (seven starts), left guard (15 starts) and left tackle (26 starts). He allowed a total of just five sacks across 1,488 career pass blocking snaps, with four of them coming during his redshirt freshman season in 2020.

Beebe surrendered only one sack in his final 42 games.

The 22-year-old lineman earned numerous accolades during his time at Kansas State, including Consensus All-American (2023), second-team All-American (2022), Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year (2022, 2023) and first-team All-Big 12 (2021, 2022, 2023). He became only the second lineman in school history to be named first-team All-Big 12 in three consecutive seasons (Dalton Risner, 2016-18).

Pick for No. 108: Justin Eboigbe, DL, Alabama

Analysis: "A'Shawn Robinson is gone and Rakeem Nunez-Roches will turn 31 years old in a matter of months. Justin Eboigbe is a physical interior defender who throws blockers around as though they were children. As New York works to identify some viable future solutions next to Dexter Lawrence, Eboigbe is a good candidate."

Eboigbe broke out in a big way in 2023. Playing in 14 games, the 6-foot-4, 297-pound lineman registered 64 tackles, seven sacks and 11.5 tackles for loss, all of which were more than he registered in his first four seasons combined. He was named first-team All-SEC for his performance in 2023.

His success last season came one year after he suffered a season-ending neck injury just four games into the 2022 campaign.

Pick for No. 166: Dwight McGlothern, DB, Arkansas

Analysis: "New York drafted Tre Hawkins and Deonte Banks in 2023. While those two have a place on the roster, it does not preclude the Giants from adding competition to that other starting boundary position. Dwight McGlothern is a long defender who I could personally see developing into an NFL starter."

McGlothern burst onto the scene in 2022 when he finished with 52 tackles (43 solo), four interceptions, 10 passes defensed and two forced fumbles across 13 games in his first season for the Razorbacks, which led to him being selected second-team All-SEC.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound corner returned for his senior season this past year and registered another three interceptions, six passes defensed and a forced fumble. McGlothern was PFF's highest-graded cornerback overall among all Power 5 programs and second-highest nationally, while his coverage grade led everyone at the position.

McGlothern began his collegiate career at LSU, where he played in 17 games with six starts across his first two seasons.

Pick for No. 183: Elijah Klein, DL, UTEP

Analysis: "The selection of Elijah Klein is just adding depth to the interior offensive line. Klein has good athleticism and some positional flexibility. He is another who finishes plays and would push teammates during practice."

Klein played in 45 games with 43 starts for UTEP, with 41 starts coming at right guard and two starts at left tackle back in 2018. The 6-foot-4, 319-pound lineman was named All-Conference USA honorable mention in 2021 and 2022.
