The Giants can clinch a playoff berth with a win over the Eagles Thursday night:
The easiest playoff scenario for the Giants to remember over the final two weeks is this: Win one and they're in.
Coming off consecutive wins over division leaders, the Giants (10-4) are in good position to make their first postseason appearance since winning it all in 2011. With the first-place Cowboys (12-2) notching another victory in Week 15, the NFC East champion, which has not been decided yet, is guaranteed the conference's No. 1 seed and homefield advantage.
The Giants would need to win out and Dallas to lose its final two games to capture the division crown, making the first Wild Card a fallback option. Big Blue, as it has for much of the season, currently holds the No. 5 seed with the Buccaneers (8-6) and Packers (8-6) chasing them from two games back. Tampa Bay finishes its season at New Orleans (6-8) and vs. Carolina (6-8), and Green Bay plays vs. Minnesota (7-7) and at Detroit (9-5).
Meanwhile, the Redskins' playoff hopes took a hit on Monday night with a loss to the Panthers, dropping Washington to 7-6-1 with a road game at Chicago (3-11) next on the schedule. The same could be said for the Vikings, who fell to .500 after starting the season 5-0.
But all of the Giants' attention is centered on a quick turnaround to play Thursday night in Philadelphia, where they have not won since 2013. After that, Ben McAdoo finishes his first regular season as head coach with a trip to Washington.
"We're excited for the game this week," McAdoo said. "It's a division rival. You could throw the records out the window. It's going to be a physical game on a short week. We need to focus on taking care of the task at hand and focus on taking care of each day and the plan for each day. Then going out and kicking the ball off on Thursday night."
