Bucky Brooks' latest mock draft prediction for Giants

Things are officially underway in Indianapolis.

All 32 NFL teams and over 300 of the top prospects from around the country are converging in Indy for the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine.

With less than two weeks to go until the start of free agency, and less than two months out from the start of the draft, the NFL offseason is beginning to heat up.

NFL Network's Bucky Brooks recently released his updated mock draft prediction for the first round, in which he changed his pick for the Giants at No. 6 to LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers.

"The Giants must surround Daniel Jones with more playmakers in order for the well-compensated quarterback to thrive in a make-or-break year," wrote Brooks.

Nabers put together his second consecutive 1,000-yard season in 2023, finishing with 1,569 receiving yards.

The 6-foot-0, 200-pound wideout brought in 72 passes for 1,017 yards and three touchdowns as a sophomore in 2022. He followed that up with a dominant campaign that saw him lead the FBS in receiving yards and rank No. 2 in receiving touchdowns at the conclusion of the regular-season while racking up 89 receptions.

Nabers led the country this past season in 10+ yard plays, 20+ yard plays and 30+ yard plays, and finished his collegiate career as LSU's all-time leader in receptions and receiving yards.

He was named Unanimous All-American and First-Team All-SEC for his standout 2023 campaign.

Nabers, who doesn't turn 21 until July 28, is one of the youngest players projected to be taken in the first round of this year's draft.

NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah released his updated ranking of the top 50 prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft.

In his first mock draft released last month, Brooks had the Giants taking Washington wide receiver Rome Odunze with the sixth overall pick.

Odunze was one of the top wide receivers in the country this past season as he caught 92 passes for 1,640 yards and 13 touchdowns. He registered 100 or more receiving yards in an impressive 10 out of 15 games, which led to him being named Consensus All-American in addition to first-team All-Pac-12.

It marked the second consecutive season in which he was selected first-team all-conference. As a redshirt sophomore, Odunze caught 75 passes for 1,145 yards and seven touchdowns.

Here are Brooks' predictions for the first 10 picks of the 2024 NFL Draft:

  1. Chicago Bears - Caleb Williams, QB, USC
  2. Washington Commanders - Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU
  3. New England Patriots - Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina
