Banks stayed in Maryland to play college football after earning All-County marks as a senior at Edgewood High School in Baltimore. He made an instant impact, starting the team's final eight games as a true freshman (28 tackles, one interception, two pass breakups in 11 appearances). Banks started three of Maryland's five contests in 2020 (11 tackles, one pass breakup) but only started two games the following fall due to a shoulder injury (six tackles). He excelled as a junior in 2022, breaking up eight passes, posting 38 tackles and intercepting one pass in 12 games (nine starts) before opting out of the team's bowl game. -- by Chad Reuter

Minnesota brought in Schmitz as a three-star recruit and top-10 center prospect nationally out of Homewood-Flossmoor High School in Illinois. He played in 13 games as a reserve his redshirt freshman campaign, then started four of 13 games played at center the following year. Schmitz started six games in 2020, earning honorable mention All-Big Ten honors from league coaches for his efforts. He was a second-team All-Big Ten Conference pick in 2021 as a 13-game starter for the Gophers. Schmitz returned for a sixth season in 2022, garnering first-team Associated Press All-American and all-conference honors for his play in 12 starts. He opted out of the team's bowl game. Hyatt waited his turn to become a star receiver for the Vols even though he was a four-star recruit and left Dutch Fork High School in South Carolina as a four-time state champion and its all-time leader in career receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. He contributed as a true freshman (20-276-13.8, two TDs in 10 games) and sophomore (21-226-10.8, two TDs in 13 games) and started once each season. He broke out as a junior, earning first-team Associated Press All-American accolades by leading the Vols with 67 receptions, ranking fifth nationally with 1,267 receiving yards (18.9 per) and tying for second in the FBS with 15 touchdowns in 12 starts. -- by Chad Reuter

A four-star and top 100 overall recruit, Gray was a big get for the Tennessee Volunteers as a three-time Tennessee Titans Mr. Football at Lausanne Collegiate School in Memphis, rushing for 7,901 yards in three seasons. He led the Volunteers in 2019 with four rushing touchdowns in 13 games as a reserve (101-539-5.3; 13-115-8.9, one TD receiving), and he racked up 120 all-purpose yards and scored a game-winning 16-yard touchdown run en route to being named the 2020 TaxSlayer Bowl MVP. As a sophomore, Gray topped the squad in rushing yards and tied for the team lead in total touchdowns (157-772-4.9, four TD rushing; 30-254-8.5, two TD receiving; 5-35-7.0 punt returns in nine games, five starts). He transferred from Tennessee to Oklahoma for the 2021 season and started six of 13 games played (78-412-5.3, two TD rushing; 23-229-10.0, two TD receiving; 4-72-18.0 kick returns). Gray got his chance to shine as a senior, garnering second-team All-Big 12 Conference accolades as the team's leading rusher (213-1,366-6.4, 11 TD; also 33-229-6.9 receiving in 12 starts). He opted out of the team's bowl game to prepare for the draft. Hawkins was a football and track standout at Temple High School before staying in-state to play two years at Trinity Valley Community College. He transferred to Old Dominion before the 2020 season, but the school did not play due to COVID-19 concerns. Hawkins started all 25 games for the Monarchs over the next two years, racking up 76 tackles (four for loss) and six pass breakups in 13 games in 2021 and then intercepting two passes, breaking up six others, posting 57 stops, blocking a kick, and forcing two fumbles in 12 starts last fall. -- by Chad Reuter

Riley starred at Riverside High School in North Carolina and then moved to Chapel Hill to play for UNC. He played in five games as a true freshman (six tackles). He did not play in 2018. Riley played at Garden City Community College in 2019 and then was signed by Nebraska, where he played as a reserve in six games in 2020 (one tackle) and 10 games the next fall (seven tackles, one for loss). Owens began his collegiate career at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, where he earned first-team Junior College All-American honors in 2018 (51 tackles, three INTs, three pass breakups). The Moore, Oklahoma, native signed with Houston for 2019, starting 11 of 12 games played (54 tackles, one interception, five pass breakups) and blocking two kicks. Owens started five of eight appearances in 2020 (28 tackles, two pass breakups) before becoming a team leader on defense in 2021, garnering first-team All-American Athletic Conference accolades (52 tackles, four for loss, two interceptions -- one returned for a score -- and three pass breakups in 14 games, 13 starts).
