20 Questions: Differences in new offense?

Question 17: What will be the biggest difference from the past 10 years with offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo's new system?

MICHAEL EISEN: First of all, don't let him see the Giants' new offense labeled as it is in the question. He continually stresses that it's the team's system, not Ben McAdoo's. The question can't be answered definitively until McAdoo starts calling plays in regular-season games. In general, it seems we'll see fewer downfield throws and more intermediate, higher-percentage routes. And though everyone is focusing on the passing game, the Giants will continue to run the ball. Tom Coughlin always stresses the importance of offensive balance and that's not going to change even with a new play-caller in town.

JOHN SCHMEELK: Everything is going to happen faster in this offense. The team will break the huddle faster. Eli will take shorter drops and deliver the ball quicker. The receivers will use shorter and quicker routes. This offense will be all about tempo.
