20 Questions: Late-Round Draft Picks

Question 6:: Who will be the first late-round (rounds 4-7) draft choice to play in a game?

MICHAEL EISEN: Devon Kennard. The linebacker from USC, selected with the Giants' second fifth-round choice, worked with the first team in the minicamp after Jon Beason was sidelined with a foot injury. Kennard demonstrated that he has quickly grasped the fundamentals of the Giants' defense. Beason hopes to return for opening night in Detroit. But if he doesn't, Kennard could be the starter on the strong side. And if Beason is back, Kennard should still have a role on defense.

JOHN SCHMEELK: Andre Williams should be in the rotation at running back to start the season. I almost chose Devon Kennard, but with Beason hopeful to be back for Week 1 and Jameel McClain playing well, it might be hard for him to break the lineup.

DAN SALOMONE: Andre Williams. This question seems to come down to Andre Williams or Devon Kennard, who made a good impression after being bumped up in Jon Beason's absence. But it looks like Beason will be back for the regular season at middle linebacker. That leaves Williams, who was a Heisman Trophy finalist last year and could carve out a role for himself as a bruiser in the Giants' backfield.
