The 10-time Pro Bowler and three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year (1981, 1982, 1986) led the Giants to their first two Super Bow l titles (XXI, XXV) in franchise history and finished No. 2 on the NFL's all-time sacks list at the time of his retirement with 132.5.

Kinard played in five postseason contests and was a part of the 1986 Giants team that claimed Super Bowl XXI. The first two-time AP All-American in Clemson history and member of the College Football Hall of Fame made the Pro Bowl in 1988.
