MALIK-NABERS-MOODYS

The Giants used the sixth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft to select an explosive wide receiver in the form of LSU's Malik Nabers.

Nabers (6-0, 200 lbs.) earned unanimous All-America honors in 2023, when he led the nation with 120.7 receiving yards per contest. He finished No. 1 in the SEC in receptions (89) and receiving yards (1,569) and ranked No. 2 in the league in receiving touchdowns (14). Nabers capped his LSU career as the school's all-time leader in receptions (189) and receiving yards (3,003).

Experts were excited about the Giants' pick, evidenced by the numerous "A" grades the team received from members of the media.

Pick for No. 47: Zach Frazier, IOL, West Virginia

Analysis: "Frazier was a four-time state wrestling champion in high school. That built-in core strength is a massive boon to his work on the interior. His body control and forearm/grip strength allow him to latch on to defenders."

Pick for No. 70: Spencer Rattler, QB, South Carolina

Analysis: "Rattler has a mature game, with sound fundamentals and pocket presence, as well as good accuracy in and out of structure. His arm is adequate, but he needs to improve when it comes to seeing additional coverage defenders post-snap."

Pick for No. 47: Jonathon Brooks, RB, Texas

Analysis: "After losing Saquon Barkley to the rival Eagles in free agency, the Giants add this talented Texas runner who is on the mend from an ACL tear last November."

Pick for No. 70: Maason Smith, DT, LSU

Pick for No. 47: T.J. Tampa, CB, Iowa State

Pick for No. 70: Trey Benson, RB, Florida State

Pick for No. 47: Tyler Nubin, S, Minnesota

Analysis: "The Giants did well to land wide receiver Malik Nabers in the first round, and now they address another hole by adding Nubin, my second-ranked safety."

Pick for No. 47: Johnny Newton, DT, Illinois

Analysis: "The Giants need to add some more power to their defensive front under new coordinator Shane Bowen, who coached Jeffery Simmons in Tennessee."

Pick for No. 70: Junior Colson, LB, Michigan

Analysis: "The Giants could use a heady, rangy cover man and blitzer for the second level to complement Bobby Okereke."

Pick for No. 47: Christian Haynes, IOL, UConn

Analysis: "More blocking reinforcement is needed for Daniel Jones, and Christian Haynes is probably the best pure guard in the class."

Pick for No. 70: Brandon Dorlus, DL, Oregon

Pick for No. 47: Max Melton, CB, Rutgers

Analysis: "Melton allowed a QBR of just 65.7 in coverage this season, allowing 24 completions on 44 targets with 16 PBU. A four-year starter, he proved his athleticism with a pristine 9.57 Relative Athletic Score."

Pick for No. 70: Marshawn Lloyd, RB, USC

Pick for No. 47: Spencer Rattler, QB, South Carolina

Pick for No. 70: Mason McCormick, IOL, South Dakota State

Pick for No. 47: Kamari Lassiter, CB, Georgia

Pick for No. 70: Edgerrin Cooper, LB, Texas A&M

Pick for No. 47: Andru Phillips, CB, Kentucky

Day 2 Draft Fit: Patrick Paul, OT, Houston

Analysis: "With a premium wide receiver locked up with their first-round pick, the Giants now need to focus on fixing the offensive line. Paul could offer help at tackle or guard for New York. Pass protection is Paul's specialty, as he posted PFF grades over 91.0 in the category each of the past two seasons."
