WR VICTOR CRUZ**

Coaches, teammates and fans were glad to see No. 80 back on the field for the start of training camp as Victor Cruz hit another major milestone in his return from a torn right patellar tendon. Cruz wasn't only back, but he also participated in team drills for the first time this year.

"He actually went on the ground one time and actually felt good about doing that," coach Tom Coughlin said at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center after the first practice. "That's one hurdle. He was out there and working and enjoying himself. So there's more to come."

WR ODELL BECKHAM JR.

Odell Beckham Jr. and Eli Manning picked up where they left off last season when the wide receiver hauled in 12 touchdowns in 12 games as a rookie. The two hooked up for the first touchdown of training camp as Beckham slid into the end zone to catch a pass over the middle. Beckham later charged up the crowd by zigzagging through defenders for a big gain near the bleachers.

"I liked it," Coughlin said. "And I'd like to see a lot more of it."

WR GEREMY DAVIS

Rookie sixth-round draft pick Geremy Davis made it a clean sweep for the wide receivers on the first day of camp. Like all new players, Davis is trying to catch the eye of the coaches and got off to a strong start with two acrobatic catches during the team portion of Friday's practice.

Both were down the sideline, both were from quarterback Ryan Nassib, and both were among the reasons why fans are excited about the potential of the Giants' offense in 2015. However, Coughlin pumped the brakes, saying, "Well, it's the first day. We've got a ways to go."
