5 plays that changed the game

Taking a sizeable lead into halftime, the New York Giants put themselves in position to end their losing streak on Sunday but instead fumbled it away in the second half, ultimately falling, 25-24, on the road to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

In a game where the Giants dominated most statistical categories, they lost the one that tends to matter most -- turnovers.  Big Blue lost the ball three times after halftime, two of which led to defensive touchdowns and the team's seventh straight loss.

Those plays and others turned the tables in the Week 13 matchup. Here Giants.com looks at the five that changed the game:

**

Play No. 1 - Jacksonville starts the comeback by recovering a fumble in the end zone for a TD**

Time: 11:13, 3rd QTR

Down & Distance: 2nd & 7 at NYG 15

After the Giants controlled the ball for more than 20 minutes in the first half and built a 21-3 lead, the Jaguars found a sign of life early in the third quarter when they registered their first of four sacks of Eli Manning. The quarterback lost the ball on the play deep in Giants territory, which Jaguars linebacker J.T. Thomas eventually jumped on in the end zone for a touchdown. Jacksonville's first of two defensive touchdowns cut the deficit to 21-10 at the time.

Play No. 2 -- Josh Brown misses his first FG of the season; Jaguars capitalize

Time: 4:54, 3rd QTR

Down & Distance: 4th & 4 at JAX 25

Kicker Josh Brown, who had made all 10 of his field goal attempts this season, missed wide right from 43 yards out, a kick that would have put Big Blue ahead by two touchdowns late in the third quarter. The Jaguars capitalized on the miss by piecing together a 67-yard scoring drive that was capped by a 30-yard touchdown from Blake Bortles to rookie wide receiver Marqise Lee. Although the Jaguars' two-point conversion attempt was unsuccessful, they found themselves down by only five points heading into the fourth quarter.

Play No. 3 -- Jacksonville scores its second defensive TD**

Time: 12:56, 4th QTR

Down & Distance: 3rd & 15 at NYG 43

The game fully slipped away early in the fourth quarter when tight end Larry Donnell was flipped in the air after catching a short pass from Manning and lost the ball. Cornerback Aaron Colvin scooped it up and ran for a 41-yard touchdown to give Jacksonville its first lead of the game as Big Blue's 21-0 lead completely evaporated.

Play No. 4 -- Bortles scrambles into FG range

Time: 1:27, 4th QTR

Down & Distance: 2nd & 15 at NYG 45

The Giants managed to snatch back the lead later in the fourth quarter with a 33-yard field goal by Brown, setting up the defense for one last stand to win the game. But Bortles, starting on the Jaguars' 20-yard line after a touchback, led the team on an 11-play, 55-yard scoring drive that culminated in Josh Scobee's 43-yard, go-ahead field goal with 28 seconds left in the game. A key play in the drive was a 20-yard boot by Bortles on second-and-long to bring the Jaguars down to the Giants' 25-yard line.

Play No. 5 -- Eli is sacked and fumbles again; Jaguars take a knee **

Time: 0:28, 4th QTR

Down & Distance: 1st & 10 at NYG 20

Just like the defense had one last series to make a play, the Giants' offense had one more shot with the ball as Big Blue was down by one point with 28 seconds remaining. But on the first play Manning was sacked for a fourth time and lost the ball again. Jacksonville recovered -- a replay official upheld the ruling after a review -- and Bortles took over in the victory formation for a 25-24 win over the Giants.
