Here are five things you need to know about the Giants' new Running Back, Jonathan Stewart:

1. Originally the 13th overall pick by Carolina in the 2008 NFL Draft, Stewart left as the Panthers' all-time leader in rushing attempts (1,699) and rushing yards (7,318). He is second to quarterback Cam Newton in career rushing touchdowns with 51.

2. Stewart reunites with Giants general manager Dave Gettleman and offensive coordinator Mike Shula. Gettleman was the Panthers' general manager from 2013-16, and Shula served as their quarterbacks coach from 2011-12 and then offensive coordinator from 2013-17.

3. No team rushed for more yards than the Panthers (21,537 total, 134.6 per game) in Stewart's 10 seasons. During that decade, the Panthers' rushing attack averaged a rank of 6.5, finishing as high as second in 2015, and third in 2008, 2009, and 2011. The Panthers were fourth in rushing last season while Stewart started 10 of 15 games and racked up 680 yards and six touchdowns on 198 carries.

4. In 2009, he teamed with running back DeAngelo Williams to become the first set of teammates in NFL history to each rush for more than 1,100 yards in the same year – Stewart finished with 1,133 and Williams tallied 1,117. Stewart also set team records in 2011 for the most catches (47) and receiving yards (413) in a season by a running back.

5. Stewart is the all-time rushing leader in Washington prep history. He went on to play at the University of Oregon and ranks second in school history with 2,891 rushing yards.
