With the 23rd pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the New York Giants selected tight end Evan Engram of Ole Miss. Here is what you need to know about the newest member of Big Blue:

Engram finished his college career as the program's all-time leader in receptions (162), receiving yards (2,320) and touchdown catches (15) by a tight end. He was also the first player in school history to earn All-SEC honors four times. The Giants now have another Ole Miss legend on the roster. The person who will be throwing to him, two-time Super Bowl MVP quarterback Eli Manning, set or tied 47 Ole Miss records before being the No. 1 overall draft pick in 2004.

NATION'S BEST TIGHT END

In 2016, Engram won the won the Ozzie Newsome Award as the nation's best tight end while picking up first-team All-America honors. He ended his career as nation's leader among active tight ends in career receiving yards. Among all Rebels, he ranks fourth in career receptions, fifth in receiving yards and tied for sixth in touchdown catches. He was also a two-year team captain and started 42 of 45 games played in his Rebel career.

GEORGIA PREP STAR

A native of Powder Springs, Ga., Engram was rated the No. 27 tight end in the country by ESPN.com coming out of Hillgrove High School. He was named first-team All-State as a senior after hauling in 40 catches for 975 yards and 10 touchdowns. His sister, Mackenzie, plays basketball at Georgia and was named to the SEC All-Freshman team.

Has true vertical speed to attack the seams. Competitive, athletic runner after the catch. Springy leaper. Jumped out of the gym to snare a touchdown over the head of a Georgia defender.
